Summer of Love

Welcome back to The Paisley Bottom! I have been itching to show all of you the magic Natalie and I have created. We ventured to the beautiful Cataract Falls to showcase some of my favorite summer looks. All of these outfits are styled and modeled by me :) All photos were taken by super talented Natalie Peterson (Natalierosepeterson.com). Enjoy!

TANGERINE DREAM
I was completely inspired when my favorite designer Mary Myers of Novella Royale chose to use this gorgeous shade of tangerine in her Summerland collection. Midi dresses are one of my favorite looks of the season, and I adore how this dress hugs my curves while still looking modest. Sorbet and sunflowers drift across my mind whenever I slide into this outfit. Matched with my pastel wooden clogs and I feel like a 70's dream!

Festival Frenzy
Bells, bells, bells!!! A trend that has gone the distance, and is still here to stay. Babes, say hello to your new favorite festival pants! These pants are also from Novella Royale's Summerland collection. This deep Indigo Chantilly pattern is a match made in heaven with my Emperor's Crop Top by one of my new fav designers; The Jetset Diaries. Even if you're not attending a festival this season, this outfit is insanely comfortable and perfect for steamy summer nights.
Ring: HLSK

BOOGIE NIGHTS
Let's groove tonight ;) The designer of this dress -Liberated Heart- absolutely kills it! Every item I have purchased from their store has blown me away. Their patterns are even more vivid in real life and the clothes fit me like a glove! Liberated Heart is located in Australia but they offer express international shipping and I always receive packages from them in a very timely manner! And HELLO THESE GLADIATORS ARE LIFE!! Thigh High x Gladiators x Lace up Sandals= a pair of shoes that will never go out of style. The padded footbed makes them even comfier then I could have imagined. I realize this outfit may seem a little bit over the top, but if you're looking for that perfect date/ night on the town outfit that matches bold statement pieces with elegance... look no further!

Low Carb Blueberry Almond Meal Pancakes!!

Due to medical reasons, my doctor encouraged me to go on a low carb diet while I was on antibiotics. I am now allowed to start adding excess carbs back into my meals, but this newly endured low carb diet inspired me! My sweet tooth has been encouraging me to embark on some new recipes. I discovered several almond meal pancake recipes on the internet. The following is a combination of several different recipes that I tweaked on my own. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

Pancake batter:
2 large eggs
1 cup almond meal
1/4 cup vanilla almond milk
2 tbsp olive oil
1 packet Sweet Leaf sweetener
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
a dash of salt
25 blueberries (5g carbs)

Optional toppings:
Roasted Pecans
Dark Chocolate covered Coconut flakes
Justin's Maple Almond Butter
1 Strawberry

(Yields about 4 6-inch pancakes)

Directions:
1. Combine 2 large eggs, 1 cup almond meal, 1/4 cup vanilla almond milk, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon, a pinch of salt, 25 blueberries, and 1 packet of Sweet Leaf sweetener in a mixing bowl. Mix until desired texture is reached.
2. Heat stove on Med-High
3. I personally love cooking with Coconut oil, but you can use any oil to non-stick your frying pan!
4. Pour in pancake batter and cook on each side for approx. 2 minutes.
5. Once pancakes are finished, top with almond butter, pecans, dark chocolate coconut flakes and strawberries. (or whatever toppings you decide)
6. INDULGE WITHOUT REMORSE!!

A Day Around B-RIP

I had so much fun shooting this blog post with my friend Lexi around my local village Broad Ripple. She took all of these amazing photos for me! Gemstoned

Spring is here and I am currently dripping in jewels! Rings are my favorite addition to any outfit, and this warm weather has me going color crazy!! I personally like to splurge on sterling silver jewelry because I know the rings will not tarnish and I love the sophisticated look that silver creates. I am also wearing a midi ring to lengthen my finger and be able to stack up tons of gemstone jewels without looking too gaudy.

Here are my bling details from left to right:
Super 7 Sterling Silver Ring from New Age People

I happened to perfectly match my skirt to my nails :) I am also giving you an exclusive look at my new favorite outfit of the season! I had my mom quickly take this picture for me in my backyard so please excuse the poor quality.

ECLIPSED

Welcome back to The Paisley Bottom! I am styling all of the latest and greatest bohemian chic fashion trends on myself. I know that my blog update is a little bit overdue, but I have been struggling with some health issues, and have obviously put my personal well-being before working on my blog. Trust me when I say that I have put all of my love (had to make at least one Zeppelin reference) into this blog post! Purchasing expensive & fabulous clothing while I'm still in college is difficult, but the end product is definitely worth all of the blood, sweat, and tears! Natalie Peterson is insanely talented and took these phenomenal photographs for me! You can contact her at: Natalierosepeterson.com

In this post I will be featuring some new and unique designers/clothing labels!

ECLIPSED

I talked a little bit about Novella Royale in my last post, and obviously Mary Myers is one of my personal favorite designers! You can check out my feature about her on my first blog post How to Keep a Colorful Winter Wardrobe and you can visit her incredible website here: Novella Royale!

Necklace: Bahgsu Jewels Amethyst Stalactite Necklace

Bahgsu Jewels was created by the beautiful Madgi Del Moro. In the above pictures I am wearing the Gold Amethyst Stalactite Necklace created by her. Madgi's jewelry is handmade and one of a kind, each piece that I have purchased from Bahgsu Jewels has been uniquely and delicately created.

"As a creator I strive to keep my designs conscious & business environmentally friendly. All materials are sourced with awareness and my ambition is to trace the path of each jewel from its natural origin." (Madgi of Bahgsu Jewels.)

Nightcap Clothing is handmade in California. I first discovered this line while shopping online at Planet Blue, and I continue to support this brand due to their use of luxurious fabrics and vibrant colors that wow me upon every purchase! Just be sure to check the sizing from Nightcap because they tend to run slightly large. I usually have my seamstress alter most of my clothes so it's not a problem for me!

"both comfortable and sexy, Nightcap is known for its' highest quality fabrication and effortless bohemian silhouettes; the line defines femininity and elegance." (Nightcap Clothing)

Necklace: Natalie B. Jewelry Sundancer Collar Necklace

Yes, Backbite Vintage is just as badass of a shop as it sounds! Even though the hunt for the ultimate vintage fur coat is coming to an end, (thanks be to god!!!) Backbite is locked & loaded with all the vintage concert tee's, high-waisted jean shorts, and cowgirl boots a rad gal could dream of! Seriously, check them out.... a great vintage find is always like a gold mine in my eyes!

Thanks for checking out ECLIPSED on The Paisley Bottom! My next post will be featuring all of my favorite ring designers and how to properly stack em' up!

How to Keep a Colorful Winter Wardrobe

Welcome to The Paisley Bottom Blog!
I'm Katie, the creator of your new go-to webpage for the latest bohemian-chic fashion trends!

UMphreak, sushi lover, shopaholic... the list goes on & on. But most of all, I like to consider myself an ingenutive, bad ass (brand new) blogger!

HOW to KEEP a COLORFUL WINTER WARDROBE

Fall is shedding its leaves... and the sharp sting of winter is setting in. Being blonde I naturally gravitate towards black clothes; slimming, classy, and always making my hair look longer! But this winter, I refuse to let the cold reflect its dreary shadow on me!

NOVELLA ALL DAMN DAY!

Natalie Peterson took the most breathtaking pictures to help me with starting up my blog. You can contact her at www.Natalie-rose-photo.com her instagram is Natalierosephoto.

NOVELLA ROYALE is my favorite clothing brand. Created by Mary Myers and handmade in California, the quality of her fabric and design aspect is unparalleled.

In my shoot with Natalie I wore Novella Royale's Broken Wing Skirt in Navy Daisy Paisley from her most recent fall collection Blackbird.

I paired the gorgeous Novella Royale skirt with my She's a Knockout Bra from For love & Lemons. I added an intricate burnout velvet kimono from Planet Blue to add a pop of color to this look!

Time to Accessorize!

In this photo I'm wearing Bahgsu Jewel's Gold Rainbow Labradorite Necklace and layering it with Vanessa Mooney's Fairytales Necklace

The fairytale necklace is perfect for layering because it can be adjusted to be a choker or a longer length! This necklace also features genuine turquoise (which is difficult to find at most retailers).

My Labradorite necklace from Bahgsu Jewels just dazzles! Featuring a 14k gold chain and faceted labradorite stone this piece is one-of-a-kind and absolutely stunning!

For Love & Lemons

"BFF's Gillian Mahin and Lauren Hall are the masterminds behind the line For Love & Lemons."

Here I'm wearing my Giddy Up Suede Dress from their Howdy From Jackson Hole collection, as well as my Flower Bomb Robe from For Love & Lemons Skivvies.

Trust me, you will not be a wallflower in this outfit.

I paired this outfit with my Johnny Tall Boots from Free People and Jeffrey Campbell. I love how the faux suede of my dress contrasts the suede of my boots without clashing.

I will add some nude tights to this look when styling it for colder winter days.

Pretty in Pink

In this picture taken by Natalie Peterson (Natalie-Rose-Photo.com) I am wearing my Ski Bunny Pullover from For Love & Lemons Knitz. The fabulous bell bottoms I have on are a signature design of Novella Royale! I am wearing the Rust Daisy Paisley color available at Novella Royale's website or at Free People.

This sweater is so comfy! And the nude color goes with just about anything. In this shot I'm wearing an Amethyst Stalactite ring from The Uncommon Wren. All of her jewelry is handmade and super unique.

I styled this cozy look with the Kyanite Dreams Necklace by Vanessa Mooney. Of course this super chic outfit wouldn't be complete without my amazing New Frontier Boots from Jeffrey Campbell and Free People.

Thank you for visiting my blog :)
Huge thanks to Natalie Rose Photography and all of the fabulous clothing designers who made The Paisley Bottom come to life!
